I worked on two animations as a sound designer, the 3D environment was created by Olaf Quinzaños who now works for Electronic Arts Montreal (EA). He was then a student at centre NAD.

PROJECT 1

In this one, I wrote the music and the sound effects so they would move at the rythm of the animation, even though it didn’t have a set timeframe. You can notice the french horns moving together with the mechanical hands in the first scene. The ultimate goal was to create a sentiment of grandeur. I also worked on the sound effects, the reverb of the little chamber and then of the tall chamber in the middle of the structure. The landing station ascension is marked by the creaking of metal and sounds of lift pumps.

PROJECT 2

Still without a timeframe, this animation had a strong path to follow. The character in the first scene is found in a mystic chamber and carries a sword. No action, only an ambient orchestral music is heard. On the second scene, he starts to run, a beat box marks his action. There is a musical ascension while he is heading towards the temporal door, while you hear the sound of his footsteps. Then he arrives in a futuristic environment on the third scene. I used modern instruments like guitars and a techno beat to mark the change, accompanied by orchestral music. The finale is centered on urban sounds as the strings fade and evokes the original music theme.
